Cats Up for Adoption

This is a message passed along from our friends over at Lifeline for Pets:

I know this is a repeat, but these adorable kittens and Mom still need a home. I’ve been showing them every weekend and they still have not been adopted. The Mom is about 1 1/2 years old, very sweet and quiet. The babies are almost 4 months old now. They live at our cat facility in Pasadena in a room by themselves. They’re not getting the human attention they deserve or need. I’m afraid they’re all going to become timid and depressed the longer they have to stay at our facility.

Can you PLEASE, PLEASE, pass this along to everyone you know and ask them to pass it on. My Pet Garden – Pasadena Pet Store

It’s been a while since we’ve posted, but we hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

A few weeks ago, we were invited to Citibank’s Pet Appreciation Day. There, we met Joel and Kristina from My Pet Garden. For those of you that don’t know, they’re located on Colorado and Sierra Madre, just west of the Vons.

Check out their store. Joel and Kristina are both very knowledgable about pets and pet products. Their store is super-cozy and a great alternative to the large chains. You can tell they really care about their customer service (check them out on Yelp!).

We’re working with yet another great Pasadena shelter/rescue group!

We just wanted to let everyone know Fetch Pet Care of NW San Gabriel Valley has teamed up with the Cat Posse. Check back every so often as the Cat Posse would like to begin posting their adoptable cats on this blog. Breed: Lab/Pit Mix

Location: Altadena, CA

Sex: Male

Age: 10 Months

POCKET WAS LEFT IN A BOX ON A BUS BENCH WHEN HE WAS A VERY SMALL PUPPY. THE GIRL WHO FOUND HIM COULD FIT HIM IN HER POCKET, AND HE LIVED THERE FOR QUITE SOME TIME, SO THAT IS WHERE HIS NAME CAME FROM. POCKET IS GREAT WITH ALL PEOPLE AND DOGS, BUT WE ARE UNSURE ABOUT CATS. HE DEFINITELY NEEDS TRAINING, AS THE GIRL WHO RESCUED HIM HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH HIM, BUT HE IS A LOVING DOG WHO WOULD LOVE TO FIND A FAMILY OR PERSON ALL HIS OWN. WOULD BE GREAT FOR AN “ACTIVE” PERSON WHO LOVES TO HIKE, OR RUN, AS HE HAS A TON OF ENERGY. POCKET IS APPROX. 10 MONTHS OLD, HAS BEEN NEUTERED, VACCINATED, AND WAS ALSO MICROCHIPPED. HE WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 57 POUNDS. RAY IS A PRODUCT OF A DIVORCE. HIS “MOM” MOVED OUT OF HER HOUSE AND HER HUSBAND DIDN’T LIKE DOGS SO SHE ASKED HER NEIGHBORS (WHO USED TO SNEAK HIM BISCUITS THROUGH THE FENCE EVERY DAY!) IF THEY WOULD TAKE HIM SO HE WOULDN’T HAVE TO GO TO THE SHELTER. OF COURSE THEY SAID YES, AND THEY WOULD LOVE TO KEEP HIM IF THEY COULD, BUT THEIR DOG IS VERY DOG AGGRESSIVE, SO RAY IS LIVING IN A DOG RUN. HE HAS A TON OF ENERGY SO WOULD BE GOOD FOR SOMEONE THAT LIKES TO HIKE, OR RUN. RAY IS APPROX. 7 YEARS OLD, HAS BEEN NEUTERED, VACCINATED, AND WAS ALSO MICROCHIPPED. Shop Whole Foods on May 5 to help a local Pasadena pet rescue group

As a small business, we love it when large corporations lend a helping hand. I’ve seen Whole Foods at several Pasadena dog events raising money for the Pasadena shelter. However, they’ve gone a step further and are helping smaller animal rescue groups such as Lifeline for Pets.

To help out the folks over at Lifeline for Pets, please shop at the Whole Foods on Foothill on May 5, 2010. 5% of all receipts will go towards their group! We’ve worked with this group and they’re a great bunch of people – a special shout out goes to Kathy Hart! Please contact their group if you would like to volunteer or donate.
